The motor in Miele washing machines, tumble dryers, and washer-dryers is a particularly powerful inverter drive, engineered to deliver performance as economically and quietly as possible. As it is electronically controlled, the motor does not use carbon brushes and is therefore not subject to the usual wear. This innovative development ensures many years of efficient, reliable, and convenient laundry care.

Does my appliance qualify for the Miele motor guarantee?

The Miele motor guarantee is valid for all new Miele washing machines, tumble dryers and washer-dryers purchased from 1st October, 2025 onwards. The purchase date stated on the invoice applies. Appliances from the commercial range and "Little Giants" are excluded from the motor guarantee.

How can I activate the Miele motor guarantee for my appliance?

To activate the motor guarantee, you must register the appliance with Miele within the two-year appliance guarantee period. Please create a customer account at www.miele.ie/registration and register your new appliance. You will then receive confirmation, including the motor guarantee terms and conditions, by email.

What is covered by the Miele motor guarantee?

The motor guarantee covers the cost of the motor as well as the technician's travel and labour charges in the event of a repair. If your machine is beyond economic repair or if repair is impossible, you will be provided with an identical or equivalent new machine. Why does Miele offer a 25-year guarantee on motors of washing machines, tumble dryers, and washer-dryers?

We are convinced that longevity is key to sustainability. That is why all Miele washing machines, tumble dryers and washer dryers are already tested for up to 20 years of use.*** The motor – the heart of every appliance – must deliver consistently high performance for decades and is subject to particularly high stress. Following our quality promise, we now offer this additional 25-year motor guarantee to demonstrate the longevity and trust in the quality of our appliances.

* The Miele motor guarantee applies to purchases of new appliances made on or after 1st October 2025. Valid in the countries of the European Economic Area and Switzerland. Applies exclusively to appliances from the domestic product range. Commercial appliances and 'Little Giants' are excluded.
