Slightly disappointed compared to my previous 20 yr old miele which was half the price but I suspect there might be a fault on the one I got so I'm returning it to get that inspected. Hopefully its something minor and I get to keep it as I love Miele as a quality brand. If not I'll be changing it to a cheaper Miele model with functionality more in line with my old miele hoover.
I'd very high hopes for this after my beloved 20 year old basic model miele hoover broke for good. Given this is one of the more expensive models available now I had expected it to have even more functions than my previous one but this seems to have reduced qty suction settings and they aren't suitable for everything that my last hoover covered. I don't feel like the strongest suction works as well as my previous one. Also the controls in the handle do not control the hoover as its meant to (a big factor in buying it) so it's possibly faulty or I'm not doing something basic to activate it. I will be bringing this back to the shop for inspection to see what I'm doing wrong with the handle controls and if there's an issue with suction options. I'm hoping its an unfortunate glitch as I do want to keep it as it feels lighter than my old one and more maneuverable across the floors and has a much longer power lead so you don't keep having to move to different power outlets. I love that the attachments store in the hoover for safe keeping and that the stairs and small crevice tools are a two in one part but the stairs tool feels flimsy and at the wrong angle, I'm finding it awkward to use compared to the stair tool on my old miele and I'm worried this tool will break easily. The brush tool on the hose is brilliant as you can easily slide it forward for use then back out of the way - it feels very efficient for using it one ledges/paneling/skirting. The wide hard floor head is also great for getting hard floors hoovered quickly. This has hepa filtering and you can really smell the freshness in the air when using it (the main reason I bought it). It's also a very good looking hoover!
